Premessa
Il “POLI” è un grande contenitore dove trovano spazio
manifestazioni sportive, di livello nazionale e internazionale, manifestazioni
artistiche, espositive e congressuali.
Inserito in un area di circa 5.000 metri quadrati il POLI è stato studiato
per consentire la massima flessibilità di gestione sfruttando la migliore
tecnologia e condizioni di comfort adeguate alle diverse e molteplici
attività che al suo interno potranno essere realizzate.
La soluzione progettuale adottata è frutto di uno studio analitico funzionale
mirato prioritariamente ad ottimizzare sia la gestione futura, sia la
funzionalità e la flessibilità operativa.
Nella cupola d’ingresso, circa 70 metri quadrati
sono posizionate le biglietterie e la reception, bar, segreteria e uffici.
L’arena, intorno alla quale gravitano tutte gli spazi funzionali e di
servizio dell’intera struttura, è stata progettata per diventare campo
da gioco, palcoscenico, centro fieristico e congressuale.
Particolare attenzione è stata quindi posta nello studio della visibilità,
dell’acustica, dell’illuminazione e del trattamento dell’aria.
Il centro è progettato per accogliere un pubblico di circa 4.000 persone,
di cui circa 2.000 in tribune fisse ed altrettante in tribune retrattili
mobili, che possono diventare 5.000 in occasione di manifestazioni che
impegnano tutta l’area di parterre.
L’intera struttura è stata pensata, progettata e predisposta in funzione
della massima capienza, tuttavia, considerando le diverse necessità e
le diverse possibilità di affluenza del pubblico, sono stati predisposti
opportuni sistemi di compartimentazione delle tribune per dare ad ogni
singolo evento la giusta rilevanza.
Diciotto sky box (palchi vip), posizionati al secondo livello, per sponsor,
organizzatori o più semplicemente per che desidera assistere agli eventi
in ambiente esclusivo, sala stampa completamente attrezzata, cabina di
regia e controllo luci, completano, in sintesi le dotazioni di minima
pensate per il POLI.

Sport
L’arena centrale consente lo svolgimento, a livello
agonistico e a norme CONI, delle seguenti discipline sportive: hockey;
calcio
a cinque; hand
ball; volley;
basket;
tennis;
ginnastica e attività di combattimento.
Inoltre lungo la testata, che chiude l’arena verso sud, vi è la predisposizione
per l'installazione di una struttura per l’arrampicata sportiva, dotazione
che andrebbe a colmare una mancanza completa di impianti coperti utili
allo svolgimento di questa disciplina.

Musica e spettacolo
Il POLI diventa palcoscenico. Finalmente anche a
Novara un palazzo dove si potrà assistere ad eventi musicali di portata
nazionale, concerti live e spettacoli di tutti i generi dal balletto al
teatro d’avanguardia.
Il palco potrà essere allestito sia centralmente che ai margini dell'arena
e di conseguenza potranno essere organizzate le zone per gli spettatori
sfruttando le previste compartimentazioni delle tribune nonché la stessa
zona di parterre.

Esposizioni/fiere e congressi
Il mercato fieristico/congressuale cambia e con esso
cambiano le abitudini degli investitori.
Ad una tendenza che vede l’Italia secondo polo fieristico europeo, grazie
alle sue grandi strutture fieristiche, si associa la tendenza di un mercato
in forte espansione per le “fiere domestiche” legate ai distretti industriali.
Il POLI è in grado di accogliere fino a 128 stand per fiere di settore,
sino ad un massimo di 5.000 persone per attività congressuali, garantendo
a tutti espositori e visitatori il massimo livello di comfort, visibilità
e tecnologia.
Novara si conferma leader in alcuni importanti settori industriali ma
ancora conferma il suo primato nelle attività di ricerca, attività per
la quale è nota in tutto il mondo.

Introduction
The “POLI” is a big block up for hosting both national
and international sports and arts events, trade fairs and conventions.
The POLI lies on a 5.000 square metre area and has been planned to favour
its management thanks to the high level technology and facilities provided
inside.
In the 70 square metre front dome ticket booths, a
reception desk, bars, an administration office and other offices are located.
The central arena may be used as playground, stage and floor for fairs
and conventions.
Special attention has been paid in studying visibility, acoustics, lighting
and air processing.
The complex can accomodate nearly 4.000 people: 2.000 on permanent stands
and 2.000 on retractable movable stands but it can even host 5.000 people
during events held in the parterre area.
The whole structure has been designed for the top capacity, however special
divisions of the stands into compartments have been arranged to give proper
importance to any single event.
In addition, the POLI includes eighteen “sky boxes” (VIP stands) on the
second level for sponsors, organizers and whoever would like to see the
events from an exclusive place, a fully equipped pressroom and a control
room also for lighting.

Sport
The central arena is suitable for the following sports
at a competitive level according to the CONI regulations: hockey;
five-a-side
football; handball;
volleyball;
basketball;
tennis;
gymnastics
and bouts.
Moreover, along the south side of the arena a climbing structure can be
set that is something absolutely new in indoor centres.

Music and entertainment
The POLI is a stage so that even in Novara musical
events, live concerts and any kind of performance from ballet to fringe
theatre will be held.
The stage may be set up either in a central location or at the sides of
the arena in order to arrange the spectators’ areas using the divisions
into compartments and the parterre.

Exhibitions/fairs and conventions
Italy is the second European fair hub and in addition
to the changes of fairs and conventions a new trend of domestic fairs
linked to the industrial districts must be taken into consideration.
The POLI may hold up to 128 stands for specific fairs and maximum 5.000
people at conventions providing both exhibitors and visitors with comforts,
visibility and technology.
Novara establishes itself as a leader in some important industrial sectors
and in the research where it is well known all over the world.
